So I saw the announcement on Newsarama that Ellis’ Black Summer is going to get an Alpha issue that reprints issue #0 and #1 and it ships this month.
Black Summer #1
Awesome.

Love the series so far and it’s easily the best series that Avatar has ever published. I must say that I’m also impressed with how Avatar as been able to publish some really great books recently and I admire their business model. They’ve really expanded and they’re definitely getting my money on a monthly basis now.

What do you think of Black Summer so far?

I’ve been waiting for Ellis to let completely loose on a superhero comic for a long time. The Authority was just a taste of what kind of superhero comics he should be writing.

This Wednesday can’t get here fast enough.

Ellis does not flip my boat. He wrote this before as The Authority.

I guess I read into what he writes as taking dump on America and super-heroes and I find it boring.

    Robert,

I kinda felt the same way about Ellis “taking a dump on America” as well, but given my genuine distaste of how the US government is being run at this time, I guess I’m living some of my fantasies vicariously through the series.

Actually, that sounds like another idea for a post! Thanks!

But believe me, the heroes are awesome. I LOVE the way that Ellis has created them and the thought that went into their creation.
