One of my favorite artists in the industry is Mark Bagley and I didn’t realize until today that all of his comic work has been for Marvel. Could have sworn that I’ve seen him do something for DC…

Mark bagley

Newsarama announced today that next year Bagley will move to DC Comics for an “undisclosed high-profile project”.

Thinking about this announcement, I really have no idea what Bagley should work on there. Personally, I’d like to see him do another team book. Yeah, I know that he’ll be doing some issues of The Mighty Avengers, but I want to see him on a regular team book, like what he did on Thunderbolts years ago. Loved Busiek and Bagley’s Thunderbolts. Loved it.

To me, Bagley is a Marvel guy, through and through. I don’t see him being a fit for DC, but I’m prepared to be surprised.

What DC characters would you like to see him work on?

Here are some of my suggestions, so listen up, DC:

Robin, Batman, Justice League, Green Arrow, Teen Titans…

I’m sure more will come to me later.

To Be Or Not To Be Captain America

I must say that I’m impressed at the visuals for the new design.

The New Captain America?

Does anyone besides me think that it’d be too obvious if Bucky became the next Captain America?

Honestly, I’m hoping that it’s someone else. Who, I have no idea, but somone else. Maybe Hawkeye? Kind of leaning toward him myself…

Thoughts?

Why Robert Downey, Jr. Will Rock As Iron Man

As I was reading Between The Staples tonite, I saw Robert’s post about Iron Man and the new movie poster that’s now online and it got me thinking, “Why am I looking forward to this movie so much?”

And the answer occured to me: Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man.

You know, when the initial news about the movie broke, I believe Tom Cruise was in line to play the character and I was ok with that. Then everything changed, studios burped, and then we start hearing about Jon Favreau taking the reins of the movie. I didn’t (and still don’t, really) know much about Favreau, but I was still interested in the movie, and I have to say that the casting for this movie seems dead-on.

Downey is such an excellent choice because he does cocky so well and that’s how I see Stark. Cocky, arrogant, smart, funny…the kind of guy that can insult you and even you would laugh at it. After seeing Zodiac, I’m even more convinced that he’s a great fit for the role.

I can’t wait to see it on the big screen.
